Nutritional Information

Sustaining great fitness and health require both regular exercise AND a healthy diet that is part of your healthy lifestyle.  The diet of the month (or even year) can lead to your desired results at first, but when dieters go back to their "old ways", they often find themselves gaining what they worked so hard to lose.  Here are some websites that can help you make nutrition choices that are beneficial, that fit your lifestyle, and are not simply the "flavor of the month."

   Beating the Summer Doldrums!

It is too hot or rainy to be outside and the kids say they are B-O-R-E-D.  Here are some activities that may spark some creative activities that will engage them.  Who knows... some of the activities could give them a leg up when the get back to school in August.

Non-Electronic Fun - Try these out!

1. Work out at the dojang or at home!
2. Create something together - a craft or even something to eat,  There are many places to go to get ideas like
Disney Family Fun, Kaboose and Crayola. Search for "kid craft" and you can peruse the many sites that have crafts.
 3. Read a Book - Keeping up their reading skills during the summer is important in keeping them on track when they return to school in the fall.  Make it a point for you to read to them and have them read independently or read aloud to you.  Ask them questions about what they read about the main idea, what characters are feeling, what happened, what they think will happen..doing this can help them develop, strengthen and maintain vital reading skills they need in all areas of their education.

4. Play some games - board games, card games, charades, etc.

5. Music Magic - If you play instruments, have a jam session; if you don't play an instrument, crank up to dance tunes and do the twist, shake it up, move to the music and have some fun!
